Indications
For the treatment of erectile dysfunction (impotence):
Erectile dysfunction: Cialis® has the potential to be used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men 18 years of age and older.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia: Cialis® may be used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men who have been experiencing symptoms suggestive of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Erectile dysfunction: By relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, Cialis® increases blood flow to the penis, thereby increasing the ability to achieve and maintain an erection.
Cialis® is indicated for the treatment of:
Primary pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH): By relaxing blood vessels in the lungs, Cialis® may be used as a treatment option for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) who are receiving therapy with Cialis®. Use of Cialis® in patients with PAH who are not taking treatment with tadalafil has not been studied.
Dosage
Cialis® is available in 2.5 and 5mg tablets.
5mg tablets are indicated for the treatment of:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): By relaxing the blood vessels in the prostate and bladder, Cialis® may be used as a treatment option for BPH that is suggestive of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
PAH: By relaxing the blood vessels in the lungs and bladder, tadalafil (Cialis®) may be used as a treatment option for PAH that is suggestive of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

In some men with BPH, Cialis® may be used to improve urinary symptoms and voiding dysfunction. The effects of Cialis® in men with BPH should be considered before initiating treatment with tadalafil. In patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension, Cialis® is indicated for the treatment of patients with an enlarged or diseased pulmonary capillaryuous blood vessels (e.g., after heart bypass surgery). In patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy, Cialis® may be used as a treatment option for men with both BPH and PAH.
Cialis® (tadalafil) may take one or more time-release tablets to achieve the same effect as Cialis® at 2.5mg and 5mg tablets. However, tadalafil must be administered on an as-needed basis at approximately 4-6 hours before sexual activity, and the maximum recommended dose of Cialis® is 2 hours after tadalafil has been taken. It is not yet known if Cialis® is safe and suitable for use during pregnancy or during the last 30 days after pregnancy.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Cialis® (tadalafil) are:
Headache: Feel different when you first start treatment with Cialis® and increased pressure may cause dizziness and blurred vision.
Cialis has been shown to cause some mild side effects. Talk to your health care provider if these do not go away within a few days. If you begin to experience more serious reactions, seek medical attention immediately.

dizziness, stomach ache, feeling sick, being sick (vomiting), reflux, blurred vision, eye pain, difficulty in breathing, presence of blood in urine, prolonged erection, pounding heartbeat sensation, a fast heart rate, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, nose bleeds, ringing in the ears, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles and feeling tired. Rare (seen in 1 to 10 in every 10,000 patients)
fainting, seizures and passing memory loss, swelling of the eyelids, red eyes, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, hives (itchy red welts on the surface of the skin), penile bleeding, presence of blood in semen and increased sweating. Heart attack and stroke have also been reported rarely in men taking CIALIS. Most of these men had known heart problems before taking this medicine.
Partial, temporary, or permanent decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes has been rarely reported.
